Scott Frankfurt Studio is built to accommodate a live orchestra of up to 20 musicians (plus conductor) on the main floor, while simultaneously tracking a full rhythm section of up to 8 more musicians in isolation spaces and amplifier isolation booths.

The studio bears the owner’s name deliberately to convey that Scott Frankfurt himself stands behind your project. He takes pride in making sure the studio is immaculate, the engineering is world-class, the workflow is smooth, your privacy is maintained and creativity is flowing. Attention to detail from pre-production to mastering enhances creative work, elevates the experience and assures delivery on time and on budget.

Our technical features include the unique ability to record 56 high-resolution digital inputs and 2" 16-track tape simultaneously in 100% perfect sync. An example application of this would be recording drums, bass and guitar to Pro Tools Ultimate (HDX) and simultaneously recording to an MCI JH-16 Mara Machine, where the output of the classic 2" tape deck is routed back to Pro Tools—in real time.

This gives the artist creative feedom to choose between digital capture and analog tape characteristics for any track, eliminating the need for synchronizers or time-consuming tape transfers!

All of the industry leading microphone, preamp and outboard colors are available; Neve, API, AKG, Avalon, Millenia Media, Neumann, Telefunken, Blue, Royer, Retro, Apogee, DBX, Dangerous Music, AEA, Inovonics, Audio Technica, Shure, JCF Audio, Phoenix, Universal Audio and many more. Utilizing AVID Control Surfaces, we offer tremendous sonic power and session portability.

Artists will find a thoughtfully curated collection of instruments in the studio, including "Stop Sign Drop-G" vintage Gretsch drums, Hammond organs, Steinway baby grand piano with MIDI, Oberheim and Moog hardware synthesizers, percussion and ample virtual instruments. Artists can choose a modern “in the box” mixdown, or take their audio to the next level with our unique hybrid approach, which uses passive analog electronics with ultra-high headroom signal path, routed to an external Apogee converter and Tascam DV-RA deck.

Our George Augspurger-tuned control room features a unique dual monitor viewing setup which makes for efficient, interactive and extra-comfortable comping and editing sessions. Mix and master translation to the real world is assured with Scott's decades of experience, Digital Audio Denmark, Dangerous Music and Benchmark D/A Converters, along with six monitoring styles via Genelec, Yamaha and Auratone speaker systems, and most recently 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos Physical Monitoring.

Film and TV crews frequent the studio for artist videos, promos and behind-the-scenes work due to our the eye-catching aesthetics and thoughtful hospitality.
